Of all the times I’ve stayed in NYC, I’ve stayed uptown twice. Something about being north of the manic is quite comforting and satisfying, not to mention it’s much more affordable to live in the Upper East/West side than it is in say, Soho. Which lets be clear- Soho takes the cake any day. Soho over everything.
Some of my favourite places to visit in the Upper East Side are Barney’s, Health Nuts for literally any exotic raw fruit or nut you’ve ever imaged, (obviously) central park for a lunch picnic / a breath of fresh air (yes, it actually exists), Laduree because we’re not Europe but we can pretend, and Blair Waldorf’s house because I live in a fantasy world and think I’m a living episode of Gossip Girl. Which I’m not, and it’s quite amusing to me that the UES is depicted as an extremely luxurious area that only the wealthy can live in, when in reality it’s one of the most affordable and family-friendly areas. Sure, it has it’s luxurious town homes and stunning condos, but in general it’s not as flashy as I expected.
For my second day in NYC I met up with Scott near the MET to shoot along Park Avenue in my new silk cami from Cami NYC and white pants from Cameo The Label. I also scored these DVF heels on The Outnet for nearly $100, which is ridiculous, no? They’re probably the most comfortable pointed toe heels I own, likely because I bought a half size too big so it gives me space for the feeling swelling that is inevitable in the summer heat. I could have just walked right into Forbes with this on and nobody would question me as a businesswoman, amirite? Probs not. Whatevs.
